The smaller dimension is the internal diameter, old candle tubes can distort with age so please measure your lamp holder at the widest point.  Your new candle tube needs to be a minimum of 0.50mm wider than your lamp holder - we have a video "How to measure for your candle tubes" on our YouTube channel or message us if you need assistance.

Q.  Are card candle tubes safe?
A.  Yes as long as they are used correctly.  Card candle tubes were used long before plastic candle tubes were available.  You must ensure that your are purchasing the correctly internal diameter, the candle sleeve must be a minimum of 0.50mm wider than the lamp holder and the height should ensure that the bulb and candle tube sleeve do not touch - these       dimensions are for ALL candle tubes irrespective of the material they are manufactured from
Q.  Is it a special card?
A.  Yes but it is important that the bulb does not touch the candle tube, there should be a couple of millimetre clearance, this is for ALL candle tubes irrespective of the material they are      manufactured from so you follow the same guidelines for plastic, card, metal and glass
Q.  Can I trim my candle tubes down?
A.  Yes using a junior hacksaw you can reduce the height
Q. Do you do other internal diameters?
A.  Yes our full range of internal diameters are found on our website 
Q. Do you only do drip candle tubes?
A. No we do non drip as well and if you find a size in drip that you want in non-drip, please contact us and we will be able to advise if we can do this in non-drip for you
